We look forward to seeing you at Dr. Lee's office. To ensure accurate allergy testing and a successful visit, please review the following instructions carefully.

Stop Antihistamines for 3 Days Before Your Appointment

Antihistamines interfere with skin testing and must be avoided for 72 hours prior to your visit.


Common Antihistamines to Avoid

  • Cetirizine (Zyrtec)
  • Loratadine (Claritin)
  • Fexofenadine (Allegra)
  • Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)
  • Hydroxyzine (Atarax, Vistaril)
  • Cyproheptadine (Periactin)
  • Clemastine (Tavist)
  • Chlorpheniramine (Chlor‑Trimeton)
  • Brompheniramine (Bromfed)
  • Dimenhydrinate (Dramamine)
  • Meclizine (Antivert, Bonine)
  • Pheniramine‑containing products
  • Montelukast (Singulair) 


Combination Products to Avoid


(These contain antihistamines even if labeled for “cold,” “sinus,” or “allergies.”)

  • Allegra‑D
  • Claritin‑D
  • Zyrtec‑D
  • Bromfed DM
  • Trinalin

If you are unsure whether a medication contains an antihistamine, please call our office before taking it.

Stop Antihistamines for 3 Days Before Your Appointment

Skin testing may not be accurate if you have taken:

  • Oral steroids (pills or liquid)
  • Steroid injections within 7 days of your appointment.



If you have taken or been prescribed a steroid within the past week, please call us to reschedule.

You may continue:

  • Steroid inhalers
  • Steroid nasal sprays

These do not affect skin testing.



Bring Your Medications

Please bring all medications you are currently taking, or a complete written list including:

  • Name
  • Dose
  • How often you take it

This helps us ensure safe and accurate treatment.

  • A valid photo ID with the patient’s address
  • Your insurance card
  • Proof of legal guardianship if you are not the parent of a minor patient

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call at least 24 hours in advance.

** To ensure availability for all patients we allow up to three no shows or same day reschedule/ cancel occurrences. After the third occurrence we will no longer be able to schedule future appointments at our clinic **
